Q: I'm looking for interesting and unique wedding/engagement rings for both men and women. Can you help?? We don't have a ton of money to spend, so nothing over $1000 at the very most. Neither of us want the boring traditonal rings you see everywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
A: We pooled our collective brain power here at Rare Bird Finds and we came up with a fab-o list of rings and shops to help you and your finace along.
The Fingerprint Ring - they are as unique as, well, your fingerprint. Exchange fingerprints - your fiance has yours and you wear his. They come in a range of styles and prices vary from low $100's to mid-$200. We did a search on Etsy and you can find all the current fingerprint rings being offered in both men and ladies' styles. The one pictured to the left is a men's version and cost $224.
The Latitude and Longitude Ring - These rings feature latitude and longitude coordinates of a specific location - perfect if there's a special spot you two call your own, like where you had your first date, first meeting or first kiss. Best of all, this latitude and longitude ring is not only handcrafted but also affordable - set of two rings are $105 (pictured).
The Outdoorsy Ring - Are you two the outdoorsy type? Maybe hiking or camping in the great outdoors is your passion? If so, then these landscape and woodsy rings may be perfect for you. This sterling silver wedding band features peaks, pines and rivers ($170, pictured). The shop carries many different outdoorsy-type rings, but my personal favorite is the wedding ring and engagement ring combo at $730. There are also these nifty unisex sterling silver ring bands that are cast from tree bark and cost $69.
The Personalized Ring - These rustic-looking, sterling-silver spinner rings (pictured) can be customized to say what you like - perhaps both of your names? They cost $90 each and look pretty darn cool. Another shop carries this wide personlized ring band ($90) which allows you to put an even longer quote - maybe part of your vows? If that is too wide, the shop carries other personlized rings that might work better for you. In yet another shop, there's this hands in the sand ring which feature two palms and next to each you can have each other's names engraved.
The Titanium & Wood Ring - This wedding band is made of titanium and wood. It is beautiful in its simplicity and definitely not that common. This particular ring (pictured) costs $199. If you like the idea of wood, do check out the shop as they carry various other styles that might be of interest to you and your fiance.
The Stainless Steel & Concrete Ring - Nothing says "I love you" like concrete, right? This ring is different and funky and we love it ($225)
To finish it off, here are a list of recommended shops that have other styles of rings that may catch your eye while still fitting into your price range:
Good luck and congrats! We hope this helps, and maybe some of our readers out there will also have suggestions for you.
- xoxo The Birdies

You can also check out the Wedding Ring Experience - you actually get to make your own rings and can generally design what you want (although prices vary according to what you design).
