Olga Krigman of OPLUSD, Card Designer
What do you make or design?
What made you decide to design the things that you do?
I used to be a designer and got sick and tired of clients pushing my designs around. I figured, let me design stuff, and then you can buy it, or leave it. The greeting cards were a perfect match.
Who inspires you?
Plenty of people and things. It’s hard to say, the list would be simply too long. But you could say that film noir, constructivism, and woody allen movies do a really good job.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a bit of an asshole. I don’t mean to be, but people perceive me differently that I do myself. I, of course, think I’m fabulous.
What’s the last book you read?
I am now reading the biography of Aubrey Beardsley.
Are you a neat freak or creatively messy?
Super messy. But it’s a very organized mess.
What is one of your fondest memories?
My 30th birthday surprise party at “Sammy’s” in NYC.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
People who don’t know you and call you “honey” or “sweetheart”. The same people tend to tell you they love you after the first time they meet you. Uuuggh.
If you could be a bird, what kind of bird would you be and why?
I don’t know a lot about birds, although I am a fan of their plumage. But maybe a chicken. They seem like they have a lot of laughs.
